Many Thanks to Everyone
So the day has come and gone, and Peter and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding. Thank you to everyone that came and helped make our day wonderful. We'll post some pictures when we return from our honeymoon in Belize

Weather Report
For those of you traveling to Humboldt Co. from outside the area, some words of advice on our weather:
It is cool here year-round, and often foggy or misty. Don't leave home without a light sweater or the equivalent.
It often rains, although normally not much in August (fingers crossed).
A "hot" day will see high temperatures of 70 for areas near the coast, hotter inland. It is always cool in the shade, and summer nighttime low temperatures are ~50F.

Registry
Gifts are not necessary, we are very fortunate to have everything that we need. Our apartment is very small and cannot accommodate much more. If you would like to give us a gift a contribution to our honeymoon fund would be greatly appreciated.
Leaves of Three, Let it Be: Beware of Poison Oak
For all of you folks from back East, or just generally unfamiliar, this is what poison oak looks like. There are areas in Pamplin Grove crawling with it, mostly along paths away from the main wedding area leading to the river. Take a close look, it can be green or reddish often with an oily look to it.

Where to Stay Locally
Camping:
3 nights of free camping are included with your wedding invitation! Pamplin Grove Park has 10 drive-up group campsites that each accommodate 10-15 people and some space for away-from-car camping. We've reserved the Grove for the Friday-Saturday-Sunday nights of our wedding weekend.
See the "Location" post for more details on Pamplin Grove and the facilities there.
Hotels:
Hotel Arcata is a medium-sized hotel, right in "downtown" Arcata.
There are lots of great hotels around:
Hotels in Arcata
Hotels in Eureka
Hotels in Fortuna
Hotels in Ferndale
There are several chain hotels in Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna, Ferndale, and the surrounding area. Some Examples:
Days Inn, Quality Inn, Motel 6, Ramada, Best Western, Holiday Inn, etc.
There are countless other hotels in our area we don't know about.
Houses / Apartments:
Trinidad is a Coastal Town 20 minutes North of Arcata, and has some vacation rental houses.
Arcata Stay is a group of 1-2 bedroom apartments in Arcata that are for rent by the night. We've had great experiences with them in the past.

What is Pamplin Grove?
It is a Humboldt County Park, located on a bend in the Van Duzen River. The "Grove" in reference is a beautiful group of old-growth Redwood trees. On the river there are sand bars and swimming holes (the extent of each dependent on our rain this year). Under the trees are the ceremonial ground, celebration area, and several group camp sites.

Here is a map of the grove (created by teardrop trailer enthusiasts who have a biannual rally there):
There are pit toilets (non-flush, but clean) at the park, and a food preparation area with sinks, counters, etc. There are campfire rings at each group campsite. There are coin-operated hot showers available about one and a half miles away at "Swimmers Delight", another Humboldt County Park that we will have access to. There is no grid electricity on the site.
Here are some pictures we took on a recent visit
Where is Pamplin Grove?
It is in Central Humboldt County, California. To get there from Highway 101, drive east on highway 36 (the turn is about 3 miles South of Fortuna). Pamplin Grove is about 11 miles down HW36, on the right.

Below is an interactive map of the area. Pamplin Grove is next to where it says "Riverside Park" on the map below.
